New for 2008 is a scholarship program in which one or two deserving high school seniors from the Trenton area will each be presented a one-year college scholarship in the amountof $1,000. Eligible students will have demonstrated leadership in promoting the GLBTI communities.
Sine 1989, December 1st has been designated as World AIDS Day. It is a day dedicated to raising public awareness of AIDS caused by the spread of HIV. In addition to sponsoring HIV testing on that day, CRI plans for an exhibit of the AIDS quilt throughout downtown Trenton as well as a commiunity-wide commemorative program.
Capital Rainbowfest, Inc. is developing plans to establish a GLBTI Community Services Center in Trenton. While more detailed plans will be available later in 2008, funds for this project are now beginning to be collected.
